How To Be An Armed Observer

The situation here is, as you’re no doubt aware by now, fluid and extremely concerning, with a significant ICE presence, and numerous allegations of illegal and unconstitutional actions by federal agents throughout the state. I’d like to offer some suggestions for how and why to be an armed observer of federal agents.

First and foremost, everything I am going to suggest is with the assumption you will be explicitly aboveboard and legally compliant - an asset, not a liability.

Armed law enforcement observers are an American tradition dating back to at least as far as the civil rights movement and the Black Panthers. To avoid turning this into a history lesson, I’ll just suggest you read up on their history and what worked well for them in the past, and lean on their experience for guidance.
